Two kinds of data
- Business account data: the names, emails and phone numbers of restaurant owners and staff who use SeatLumo, and details sent through this website.
- Guest data: details that restaurants enter or that guests give when booking, such as names, phone numbers, visit history, preferences, notes and feedback.
Who decides what happens to guest data
Each restaurant decides which guest data to collect and why. SeatLumo processes that data on the restaurant's behalf to provide the service, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Guests who want to see, correct or delete their details can contact the restaurant, or write to us and we will help.
How we use data
- To run SeatLumo: bookings, the live floor, guest records, reminders and reports.
- To support you, send service messages and handle your requests.
- To keep SeatLumo secure and to fix problems.
- We never sell or rent personal data, and we never use guest data for our own marketing.
Where data is kept
The SeatLumo database is hosted in India (Mumbai region). Trusted service providers help us deliver email and host the website, and may process limited data outside India for that purpose only.
How we protect it
- Encrypted connections for all traffic.
- Each business's data is kept separate at database level.
- Staff see only what their role allows. Report emails show guests by first name only, never phone numbers.
Cookies
This website uses only the cookies needed for it to work and privacy-friendly visitor counts. We use no advertising trackers.
How long we keep data
We keep data while a subscription is active. After it ends, we keep it for 90 days so the business can export it or return, and then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw a consent you gave. Write to the grievance contact below and we will reply within 30 days.
